
About Fingerstyle and Classical Guitar For Beginners
Join me in this Fingerstyle and Classical Guitar Series Group Lessons that I designed for complete beginners like you!
These classes are perfect for those who have always wanted to learn the technique of classical and fingerstyle guitar. Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or you have some basic experience, in these series of classes I will guide you through the fundamentals of playing with a focus on classical/fingerstyle guitar techniques, basic music notation reading, and easy repertoire.
In this group setting, you’ll learn:
1.- Proper posture and right/left hand position.
2.- Basic note reading.
3.- Progressive right and left hand exercises to build your skill set.
4.- Simple classical/fingerstyle pieces.
5.- The right mindset to play your instrument.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a strong foundation to continue progressing and explore more guitar repertoire. Come join me and let’s enjoy playing some beautiful music 🙂
Class Materials
1.- Nylon or Steel String guitar
2.- Footstool (not mandatory)
3.- Guitar Anti-Slip Pad (not mandatory)
The capacity for this class is 20 students.
Class Goals
Goal 1: Learn the Basics of the Right and Left Hand Technique
– Learn the basics of classical/ fingerpicking guitar, including correct finger placement in both hands.
– Working on easy right-hand fingerpicking patterns and exercises, such as: right hand walking (alternating index and middle fingers) and the playing of basic arpeggios using thumb, index, middle and ring fingers to build strong right hand.
Goal 2: Learn how to Read Basic Guitar Notation
– Learn how to read basic music notation.
– Practice basic rhythmic patterns and time signatures.
Goal 3: Play Simple Classical Fingerstyle Exercises.
– Learn to play beginner-friendly fingerstyle/classical guitar exercises that will build up your basic technique to play easy repertoire.
– Focus on clean execution and timing.
Goal 4: Play Easy Guitar Repertoire
– Learn to play easy, beginner-friendly classical guitar pieces that focus on basic right and left hand techniques such as: arpeggios, notes transition, and simple melodies.
Goal 5: The Right Mindset to Play Guitar
– Learning how to practice effectively.
– Cultivating Patience and Persistence.
– Understand that progress on playing any instrument takes time and consistent practice. Develop the mindset of enjoying the journey, not just focusing on the end result.
– Embrace mistakes as learning opportunities and see them as essential parts of the growth process.
