Karla García – Toronto Guitarist, Music Creator & Educator.

Karla García is a Chilean-Canadian guitarist, composer, and music educator whose artistic voice was shaped on the island of Chiloé, Chile — a place whose rich culture and landscapes continue to inspire her music. She holds a degree from the Conservatory of the University of Chile, where she studied under celebrated guitarists José Antonio Escobar and Romilio Orellana, building a classical foundation she has since woven together with Latin American folk traditions and contemporary acoustic styles.

Her career spans performance, education, and creation across two continents. In Chile, she performed at prestigious festivals including Entrecuerdas and Guitarras al Puerto, and was awarded Best Performer at the César Cortinas Guitar Contest in Uruguay in 2010. Since making Toronto her home, she has performed Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez with the Ontario Pops Orchestra, shared the stage with Lebanese oudist Charbel Rouhana with the SPO Orchestra, and was part of a tribute to guitar legend Liona Boyd at Canada’s Walk of Fame.

Beyond the stage, Karla works as a session musician and educator, collaborating with artists in the studio and teaching aspiring guitarists online and in person. Whether you’re looking for a performer for a special event, a collaborator in the studio, or an online guitar teacher — she’d love to connect.
