Hi! I’m Karla García, a guitarist, music creator, and educator originally from the beautiful island of Chiloé, Chile. Growing up surrounded by its rich culture and stunning landscapes deeply shaped my love for music.
I studied at the Conservatory of the University of Chile, where I developed a strong foundation in classical guitar and discovered how to blend traditional Latin American sounds with contemporary acoustic styles. Today, based in Toronto, I enjoy wearing many hats — from solo performances and studio sessions to orchestral collaborations and teaching.
Some of my career highlights include performing the second movement of Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez with the Ontario Pops Orchestra at Meridian Arts Centre, and recently participating in a special tribute to the legendary guitarist Liona Boyd — an experience I was honoured to share on stage with some of Canada’s finest musicians.
Right now, I’m focused on producing my debut album, a project inspired by memories, migration, and the rich cultural heritage of my Chilean roots. Music, for me, is a way to connect, express, and create new stories that resonate deeply with audiences.
If you’d like to hear my music or discuss a project, feel free to get in touch — I’d love to connect!
